About Prep and Chef

The app

Prep and Chef is a recipe manager and meal planner for iPhone, iPad, and Mac. It lets you save recipes from anywhere — websites, Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, YouTube, photos of handwritten cards — organize them into collections, plan your week, and generate shopping lists automatically.

The app has not launched yet. We're a small New Zealand–based team building it now. If you'd like to know when it ships, you can join the waitlist from any page on this site. You won't find user counts, star ratings, or testimonials here yet — because there aren't any. When real ones exist, we'll publish them.

This site

While we build the app, this site is meant to be a genuinely useful cooking reference in its own right. It has three parts:

• Recipe data analysis. We collect published recipes for a dish, catalogue their ingredients, times, and techniques, and analyse the reader reviews they've accumulated on their source sites. The result is a comparison that helps you pick which recipe to cook. Important: we do not cook or taste-test these recipes ourselves — our pages are analysis of published data, and we say so on every one. Read exactly how this works on our methodology page.
• Cooking guides. Practical reference pages — times, temperatures, and techniques — with food-safety figures checked against authoritative sources like USDA/FSIS.
• Kitchen tools. Free utilities like our cooking converter for unit, weight, and temperature conversions.

Who's behind it

The site is written and reviewed by Author Name (placeholder — set before launch), Founder of Prep and Chef. Analysis and drafting are software-assisted, and a human reviews and approves every page before it's published — our editorial policy explains how, including how to report an error.

Our promise

We only claim things we can back up. Sources are named and linked. Pages that compare recipe apps disclose that we make one. If you spot anything that doesn't meet that bar, email us at hello@prepandchef.com and we'll fix it.
